My Story: The Start of my VA Journey
Updated: Dec 30, 2020
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was sitting at home, it was a Saturday afternoon in late fall, and I grabbed my phone to check my email. I had an email from a blogger that I had been following for about a year. Normally I read the title and if I like what I read, I’ll click on the email to read it. The past few ones I had deleted without a thought, but this email caught my eye. The title read…
“Learn How My VA Saves Me Priceless Hours Each Month”

Many people would have wondered what a “VA” was, I know that when I told my Mom about it, she had no clue what the acronym meant, but I had been hearing a lot about virtual assistants lately, so I knew what she was talking about.
I clicked on the email and immediately read through the whole email. Something about this email changed me. Maybe it was the way she explained what her virtual assistant does for her or how she expressed shire gratitude for her virtual assistant, it made me want to explore virtual assistants further. Every task that she is having her VA do, I thought, “Heck, I can do that!” That’s when it hit me.
I can be a Virtual Assistant!
That’s when I really went to work. I KNEW that I could do it, but I knew that I need to educate myself on the platforms used. There are so many different things that small businesses use:
Social media platforms
Email management platforms
Social media schedulers
CRM platforms
Content creators
E-course creators
Communication tools
Payment systems
At first, I was a little overwhelmed. I knew I wouldn’t have to learn them all, but my personality makes me want to know them all. That’s when I found an amazing online course, The Savvy System, and it changed my life.
The Savvy System walked you through, step-by-step, exactly what you needed to do in order to become a virtual assistant. From how to market yourself, how to create your brand colors, how to create a logo, how to set-up your website, where to find clients, and so much more!
It wasn’t a cheap investment if I’m being honest, but they claimed that you could pay for your investment within the first month of launching your business. I was skeptical but after a year of being in business, my mind was changed.
I’ve made my investment back 10 times over!!
I’m so glad that I opened that email and read her blog that day. It has seriously changed my life FOREVER! It hasn’t been easy. It’s been really, really hard, but it gets easier each month. I’ve been able to grow my client list and work with people from all over the United States.
If you are interested in how you can become a virtual assistant, I recommend checking out The Savvy System by The Virtual Savvy!
